Flex x Cop 2 ended on September 19, 2026, with serial killer Yoo Seong-won behind bars, chaebol detective Jin Yi-soo alive, and a brand-new threat watching from the shadows. If you finished episode 14 wondering how the gallery trap worked, what happened to Jung Tae-sun, or who the man with the bloody knife is, this ending-explained guide covers it all. Spoilers ahead for the whole season. The SBS crime drama starring Ahn Bo-hyun and Jung Eun-chae also signed off with its highest ratings yet, so fans are already asking about a third season. Here is what the finale answered and what it left open.
Flex x Cop 2 Finale Recap: How Does the Season End?
Season 2 follows third-generation chaebol heir turned major crimes detective Jin Yi-soo (Ahn Bo-hyun) and team leader Joo Hye-ra (Jung Eun-chae), the new female lead who joined after Park Ji-hyun did not return for the second season. Over 14 episodes on SBS, the pair chase a serial killer who hides behind a famous family name. The finale, which aired on September 19, wraps that case up with a livestreamed confession, a wave of arrests, and a last-minute cliffhanger. In short: the villain is caught, the team is honored, and a stranger stabs a knife into an image of Yi-soo.
Does Jin Yi-soo Survive the Fire and the Murder Frame-Up?
Yes. The finale opens with Yi-soo trapped in a burning basement, where carbon monoxide leaves him unconscious. Forensics arrive in time, he is rushed to the hospital, and his surgery goes well. Seong-won, meanwhile, is released from custody for lack of sufficient evidence. Team 1 then uses Yi-soo’s hackers to trace the man who attacked him: Han Jong-hyeon, an assistant to Seong-won’s mother, Jung Tae-sun. Out of options, Tae-sun orders Jong-hyeon to kill Seong-won and stage it as a suicide. Seong-won works out the plan, kills Jong-hyeon instead, and sends two of Team 1’s detectives off a cliff. Both survive with minor injuries. By the end, Yi-soo is cleared of the murder frame-up and is back beside the detectives who trusted him.
How Does Yoo Seong-won Finally Get Caught?
Through a trap. According to The Review Geek’s recap, Yi-soo regains consciousness about four hours before the showdown and plans the operation with Hye-ra. Hye-ra lures Seong-won to his gallery wearing his mother’s clothes, and Yi-soo walks in, smashes the sculptures and calls them garbage made by a psychopath. Seong-won can’t resist boasting, naming his victims and explaining how he turned them into art. The whole scene is livestreamed to reporters, including foreign media, so the family’s company can’t quietly bury it. After his arrest, Seong-won claims he was only describing imagined artwork. The real proof comes when Kyung-jin notices on CCTV that Seong-won spends a lot of time in his backyard. Forensics dig there and find three buried bodies, which turns a confession he can deny into a case he can’t.
What Happens to Jung Tae-sun, Team 1, and the Rest of the Cast?
Tae-sun insists she knew nothing about her son’s crimes, but a bug Yi-soo planted in her office recorded her ordering Jong-hyeon to kill Seong-won. She is arrested, with reports describing the charge as soliciting murder. Tae-gyun admits he leaked information from an ongoing investigation that led to Mr. Hwang’s death, and he faces a disciplinary hearing. Chairman Choi finally takes his long-delayed trip to Europe. Yi-soo holds a joint funeral for Seong-won’s victims so their families can finally find closure, and Team 1 is commended and rewarded with a vacation. Yi-soo keeps it local, a boating trip rather than an overseas holiday, because detectives need to stay close in case a new case lands.
Who Is the Mysterious Man in the Final Scene, and Is There a Flex x Cop Season 3?
Near the end, a man played by Kim Ji-hoon walks into a house with a bloody knife. Photos of Team 1’s detectives cover his walls, and he thrusts the knife into an image of Yi-soo. The show does not reveal who he is or what he wants. Back on the vacation, Hye-ra cuts the break short with the line, “Jin Yi-soo, change your clothes. It’s a case,” and the two head off together. As for Season 3, I could not find an official renewal announcement in the reporting I checked. What we do know is that the finale hit 11.8% nationwide according to Nielsen Korea, up from 9.4% the night before and the highest rating of the season. Since Season 2 arrived about two years after Season 1, I would not expect a quick turnaround even if a third season is approved.
Flex x Cop 2 Ending FAQ
Does Yoo Seong-won die at the end of Flex x Cop 2?
No. He is captured alive and arrested on multiple murder counts. Yi-soo tells him he will spend his future either in prison or in a psychiatric hospital, and Seong-won reportedly has a panic attack as that sinks in.
Do Jin Yi-soo and Joo Hye-ra end up together?
Not in a romantic sense, at least based on the recaps I read. The finale focuses on their trust and partnership rather than a confession, and it ends with the two leaving together for a new case.
Where can I watch Flex x Cop 2?
Flex x Cop 2 aired on SBS on Fridays and Saturdays at 9:50 p.m. KST and streams on Disney+ in supported regions. Availability can vary by country, so check your local Disney+ catalog.
Flex x Cop 2 delivers a satisfying payoff: a villain who believed money and his family name made him untouchable is undone by a public confession and the evidence buried in his own backyard. The finale also treats the ending as a warning rather than a full stop, because the last scene puts the whole team on someone else’s list. Whether that becomes Season 3 is still unconfirmed, but the setup is clearly there.
